![]() Goalkeeper Arianna Efstathiou The 18-year-old Massapequa Park resident plays for Albertson Fury '89 of the Long Island Junior Soccer League and describes her best moment ever on a soccer field as winning the State Cup in 2006. She also did wonderfully at St. Anthony's High School where she was on the Honor Roll for all four years, won the St. Bonaventure Award for her high marks and made All-State in girls soccer. She made her Long Island Fury debut in the season opener on May 21, playing 20 minutes in relief of goalkeeper Becky Wachsberger, making one save and preserving the shutout. The Fury defeated the New York Athletic Club, 8-0, that night. "Great hands, super reflexes and a winning attitude to go with it. She is a very good all round goalkeeper with the ability to come up with the big save but also make the routine stuff look comfortable," commented Long Island Fury head coach Paul Riley. Soccer is not the only sport in which she excels as she's also a black belt in karate. After the Fury season this summer, Arianna will be off to the nation's capital to study at and play for American University.
